Would you like to be mentored by an experienced media industry mentor?
Do you know of someone who might benefit from this?
Applications are now open for people to become a mentee in the Media Society 2026 Mentoring Scheme.
If you're an early-career media professional ready to take the next step, this free, year-long programme offers the chance to learn from experienced industry figures.
We're looking for mentees who:
• Are 24+ and post-education
• Have at least 2 years’ experience in media or a media-related role
• Are serious about professional development and open to feedback.
As a mentee, you’ll have the opportunity to:
• Receive one-to-one guidance from a senior media professional
• Take part in four mentoring meetings across the year
• Attend workshops
• Join a peer network of early-career professionals across journalism, broadcasting, digital, production and communications.
The scheme operates with a clear code of conduct, confidentiality and professional boundaries. Please note that the scheme does not offer jobs or internships.
Message from the head of our Mentoring Programme, Susan Morton:
""You don’t need to have everything figured out - that’s when mentoring is most valuable. If you’re serious about progressing in media, don’t hesitate to apply. Our mentors are here to support you"
Please apply to be a mentee - or forward this email onto to someone who you think might be interested in joining the scheme.
