The Media Society at The Conduit on Tuesday 9th June 2026 at 6.30pm.

Join us for one of our special in-person Media Society events at The Conduit – for what will be a fascinating session on the podcast industry.

Our panel for the discussion has just been announced:

Adam Fleming - lead presenter of the BBC ‘Newscast’ podcast and host of the culture-focused ‘AntiSocial’ podcast. Beyond audio, he is a broadcaster and journalist across BBC television, and has been the BBC’s Chief Political Correspondent and Brussels reporter.

Chloe Straw - Director of Operations at Goalhanger, the UK's largest independent podcast producer. Before joining the network, she was CEO of the industry body AudioUK.

Nick Hilton - one of the UK's top current affairs podcast producers. Co-founder of the podcast production company Podot. Chief TV critic for the Independent. Former podcast editor for the New Statesman and Spectator. Producer of the critically acclaimed Movers and Shakers podcast.

Ritula Shah (Chair) - currently with Classic FM, she was formerly the main presenter of BBC Radio 4's flagship programme, The World Tonight. She also presented Woman's Hour and The World Today on the BBC World Service.

The discussion will look at what’s next for podcasts: the rise of video-shows, monetisation models, and how AI is changing production and discovery. We’ll debate whether there are too many podcasts, what makes a hit, and whether personality or topic drives growth.

As one of our in-person events, this is a great chance to meet the speakers and industry peers over drinks at the pay bar before and after the discussion.

The event is being produced in partnership with The Conduit.
