Join The Media Society at The Conduit, next Tuesday 28 April 2026 at 6pm.

Our next event at The Conduit will be a fascinating session on the crisis communications industry. We’ll discuss how organisations respond to media crises, the difference AI has made, and lessons from recent UK flashpoints, such as the M&S cyber attack, reputation challenges at the BBC, and the Travelodge safety failure.

Our panel:

  • Anoushka Mutanda Dougherty - Host of the BBC Sounds podcast Fame Under Fire, which explores celebrity legal battles and the impact of social media on modern fame.
  • Abby Mangold - MD of the crisis communications and media training company Mangold Consultancy. Former Producer/Director BBC TV Documentaries.
  • Scott Langham - Senior Counsel, Reputation Management for the global agency VCCP. Previously, Head of Crisis at Freuds and Deputy Managing Editor of MailOnline.
  • Simon McCoy (Chair) - Broadcaster and journalist, and former BBC presenter.

The discussion is being produced in partnership with The Conduit.
